FAQs

  • SIXTOP organizes communal dining tables for neighbors at local, high-quality restaurants.

Members simply reserve up to two (2) spaces at SIXTOP dining events planned exclusively for their community, then join others at the table to meet new people over dinner, without swiping, profiles, or hassles.

It’s a perfect, low-pressure way to be social, develop new friendships, and enjoy great food in you community, with no work — whether you’re out alone or with a friend, partner, or spouse.

  • Anyone aged 21 and over is welcome to become a member, as long as we can verify their email address, with an active credit card on file.

SIXTOP has the right to revoke membership at any time.

  • CORE membership at SIXTOP is a perfect, low-pressure way to expand local social circles for individuals and those with spouses, partners, or friends.

For just $6 per month (billed quarterly), members can reserve up to two (2) spots at an unlimited number of events exclusive to their specific communities.

Even better, new members start their SIXTOP experience for the price of a latte, with everyone’s first 3-month term priced at just $2 per month (billed quarterly). This discount is applied at sign-up, with no code needed.

Note that the cost of meals is not included and will be charged and collected independently by host venues — just as if you were a non-SIXTOP customer — with each participant responsible for their own bill.

  • Membership can be canceled at any time for any reason. Simply log In to your SIXTOP account; go to Manage; then go to either Plan or Billing and press the link labeled, “Cancel subscription.”

Your subscription will terminate at the end of your current billing cycle, eliminating your ability to reserve space at SIXTOP events.

Any reservations you’ve made for events that are set to take place after your subscription ends will be canceled.

  • SIXTOP verifies member email addresses and has an active billing relationship with each member; so participants will know they’re with members from their own community and who are known by us.

Beyond that, though, our focus is on making real-world connections among people from the same community. To capture this diversity of thought, age, income, profession, affiliation, interest, and background, we do not do additional qualification or screening of participants.

  • We want to make it easy, fun, and hassle-free for participants to enjoy their neighbors and community members, regardless of their background, interests, affiliations, age, income, etc. So, we don’t ask members to complete lengthy questionnaires or describe themselves in great detail and don’t permit members to qualify or screen other participants. We hope that commonalities are identified and built upon from personal interaction and dialog.

That said, SIXTOP does verify member email addresses and have an active billing relationship with each member; so participants will know they’re with members of their community and known by us. Moreover, our post-event communications are used to inform about your experiences with others.

  • SIXTOP members can reserve up to two (2) complimentary spots at each event — one for themselves and one for a guest.

Members must attend with a guest and no guests will be permitted without accompanying a member.

Guests will not have access to member accounts or be able to make or change any reservations. And, while guests are not required to live at the member’s address or even in their neighborhood, keep in mind that SIXTOP’s focus is on local connections.

  • SIXTOP shares no information about participants with others in their event group prior to an event. During an event, participants are in complete control about what, if anything, they share with others — last names, work locations, phone numbers, interests, etc.

After an event, SIXTOP opens an event-specific micro-community in which each participating members’ first name, last name, and photo are shared. Any additional sharing and/or communicating is left to the individuals involved.

  • When you arrive, check in with the host venue using the party name that we provide, just as you normally would. At your table, use provided digital access passes (i.e., QR codes) to verify that you (and others) are in the right place at the right time.

Then, connect at your leisure. Build relationships. Break down walls in the best, most comfortable ways possible. All sharing, conversations, decisions, ordering, payment, etc., are up to the individuals involved.

Ice-breakers can always be used, with participants attempting to match responses to individuals and/or respondents providing more background on their responses.

And, at the end of an event, individuals and pairs receive unique bills from the host/venue — rather than an equal share of the table’s total bill — and go on their merry ways.

  • Dinner's great; but, our hope and expectation is that you'll actually want to stay in touch with tablemates after dinner too.

To make this easier, we provide access to digital Event Communities, where you can share contact information with, and direct message, other members at your specific table. These digital communities go live at the start of every dinner.

To digitally connect with other members at your table(s):

    • Log in to SIXTOP

    • Click on the small calendar icon on your Home page, to view your "Registered Events"

    • Click on any Event that you've previously attended

    • Click on, "See other attendees in the Event Community"

    • Connect digitally with relevant members

  • At SIXTOP, we try to balance the realities of daily life with the experience of all participants. So, we work hard to make sure that every event has the maximum number of people in attendance.

With this in mind, we’ve set the following policies:

More than 48 hours prior to an event’s published start time, reservations can be cancelled for any reason, with no penalty.

Within 48 hours of an event’s published start time, cancelled reservations will be automatically charged $15 per spot reserved for the event in question.

If participants simply don’t show up at an event for which they’ve reserved space, they will be automatically charged $15 per spot reserved for the event in question.

  • SIXTOP’s events are fairly unstructured by design, because we value serendipity. We share no information about participants with others in their group prior to an event, so anything shared — last names, work locations, phone numbers, interests, etc. — is entirely up to individual participants. The group and its members are on their own to connect, build relationships, and break down walls in the best, most comfortable ways possible.

That said, we fully expect participants to be respectful of others; kind to others; inclusive; and, responsible at all times. And, all participants must obey relevant laws.

As part of our regular post-event communication, SIXTOP may ask participants about their experiences with others in their group.

SIXTOP will evaluate feedback and reserves the right to void membership at any time.

  • Ambassadors are the local faces of SIXTOP who manage local markets and help deliver great member experiences.

Their primary responsibilities include booking reservations, managing members, marketing events, and moderating communities.

Accordingly, they must be local experts who are community-oriented, organized, and ownership-driven.

Ambassadors can earn up to $30-50 per hour, plus a monthly stipend of $100 to attend events they help plan.

  • Glue Up is a vendor we use to power key membership-, event-, and payment-related solutions.

Members can Log In to their SIXTOP account, which is powered by Glue Up, by either going to https://sixtop.io/log-in or by going to directly to Glue Up at https://app.glueup.com/account/login

Alternatively, you can download the Glue Up app through the Apple or Google Play stores to gain app-based mobile access to SIXTOP. Once downloaded, simply log in using your SIXTOP membership email and password.
